Did you find what you wanted?

My brother and his wife are expecting their first child in about a month. I am super excited about the imminent arrival of my new nephew, and almost as excited that they picked some super fun Decor Elements with which to decorate the baby’s room! One of the great things about using these here in Southern California, is that you can decorate above the crib and the changing table without the fear of anything falling down in an earthquake. I showed you the super cute robot they put up a few weeks ago. Well, they had time to put up the rest, so I went over to take some pictures.
You can see the robot over the changing table. They also added some monkeys swinging on a vine. (Don’t forget, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

Here’s a close up of the monkeys. I just love how they are going around the corner!

Moving on around the room, they added four animals from the now retired stamp set, Wild About You. These are done in multiple steps, since each of the colors are applied to the wall separately. My brother said it was not as difficult as he thought it would be. He actually had a lot fun putting them up!

Here are all four of the animals. (The bird is not up yet.)

Isn’t the room adorable? I have to tell you, though, these adorable creatures are all on the Decor Elements Last Chance List, and will not be available after June 30th. The good news is that right now they are all 25% off! If you want to see a visual list, go to my website, then click on Last Chance, and then Home Decor.

I don’t know about you, but I am Wild About this stamp set! Wild About You, believe it or not, is on the Last Chance List and will no longer be available for purchase after June 30th. Sad, but true! Don’t miss out on the cutest animals around! Here they are, featured on an adorable diorama card. Best thing about it? It folds down flat for easy mailing! We’ll be making this at Paula’s workshop on Thursday. Want to learn how to make some great cards like this? Contact me to schedule a workshop today!

Passover is coming up next week, and one of the things my family really likes to focus on are the ten plagues. Particularly the decorations — frogs and bugs more so than blood and boils. So I got it in my head to make a Ten Plagues Passover card. It took quite a few stamp sets, and a fairly loose interpretation of the plagues, but here is what I came up with:

The plagues (and the stamp sets I used)
1) Blood (Pick a Petal)
2) Frogs (Hoppy for You)
3) Lice (Hoppy for You)
4) Wild Beasts (Wild About You)
5) Cattle Disease (Pun Fun)
6) Boils (All in the Family)
7) Hail (Pick a Petal)
8 ) Locust (Bugs & Kisses)
9) Darkness (Chocolate Chip Cardstock)
10) Slaying of the First Born (All in the Family, Family Accessories Too)
Ink: Ruby Red, Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Creamy Caramel, Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin’ Write Markers

Who doesn’t love penguins? I mean really, what’s not to love? When we were house sitting in Los Angeles over Winter Vacation, Eve was lucky enough to get to stay in Dexter’s room. And Dexter loves penguins. So I made him this penguin card and note card set, as a thank you. Which I had better get in the mail, considering that it is already February!
I used the penguin from Wild About You (love that little guy!) colored with Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Stampin’ Write markers before stamping it down. The card is based off of this one. The snowflakes are stamped in white craft ink, then embossed with Iridescent Ice. I used a Two-Way Glue Pen to apply glitter to the torn edges of the cardstock.
Stamps: Wild About You, Holiday Blitz
Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Two-Way Glue Pen, Dimensionals
I used the same note card design that the fabulous Dannie Graves came up with, but this time I used penguins instead of the monogram inside the scalloped circle. The black and grey striped paper is from a retired Halloween pack, but the new Rockabilly paper has fantastic black striped paper as well!
Outside of the note card pack:

One of the note cards:
Stamps: Wild About You
Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Ghostly Greetings DSP (retired, try Rockabilly instead)
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, scallop circle punch, brads
Hope he likes it!

These 3″x3″ cards are quick, easy, and super cute! They could be used as kids’ Valentines, or just as fun notes to stick in a child’s lunch box, backpack , or locker. I just love the facial expressions on the Wild About You animals. They are too cute! You could easily make this card with any of the animals. I just picked these two for an example.
