When I saw Holly’s colors for this week’s Color Round Up Color Challenge, I knew exactly how I wanted to use them!

I had been thinking about making a Sock Monkey card with my after school class this week, and these were the absolutely perfect colors for it! Of course, I had to incorporate the Big Shot too, because goodness knows those kids love using the Big Shot!

Stamps: Sock Monkey, Sock Monkey Accessories
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Real Red
Paper: Marina Mist, Real Red, Whisper White
Other: Clear Scallop Square Bigz Die, Big Shot, Aqua Painter
I can’t wait to see what the kids do with all of the possible accessories!

Today was just a Sock Monkey kind of day! Poor little guy hadn’t seen ink in so long, so I was glad that I could find a way to work him in to this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
I used Summer Sun on the bananas, and tied it together with the Summer Sun in the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper (still on sale! Buy 3 get 1 free!) I think maybe I should have made the circle a little bigger, but I’m happy with how it came out.

Stamps: Sock Monkey
Ink: StazOn Black, Stampin’ Write Markers (Summer Sun, Barely Banana, Close to Cocoa, Real Red)
Paper: Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White,Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, Circle Scissors Plus
What a bright cheery card! This paper just brightens everything up!

One of the French teachers at school saw my scalloped circle Sock Monkey card, and wanted a Sock Monkey card to give another French teacher who used to have a monkey when he was a boy. So I wanted to make a non-cutesy, non-kid-like, but still nice Sock Monkey card. This is what I came up with, a clean and simple Sock Monkey card. I used the paper from the Candy Lane pack, but cut it so that there was no Pink Pirouette stripe.

Stamps: Sock Monkey
Ink: StazOn Black
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Candy Lane DSP
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Watercolor Wonder Crayons

I love, love, love the colors that Kristina Werner picked for today’s color inspiration! They are so bright and fun and happy! And since there was even a shade of brown in there, I decided to use my sock monkey set! Here are today’s colors:

I wanted to make the card look really fun, so I created a card with the large scallop circle big shot. I made the fold (at the top) by folding a piece of cardstock and placing it on the die so that the fold was INSIDE the cutting area. This gave me a quick, easy, beautifully shaped card! I cut the circle layers with my new Circle Scissors Plus. I love it! It is so quick and easy and makes great circles in all sizes. Enough of an intro! Here is my card:

Stamps: Sock Monkey, Family Phrases
Ink: StazOn Black
Paper: Ruby Red, Brocade Blue, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stampin’ Write Markers, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Circle Scissors Plus, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for looking!
