Another great sketch from Stamping 411 today. That nice long piece across the middle is the perfect space for a Stampin’ Around Wheel.

Looking at that, I decided that this would be a great time to give you a sneak peak of the new builder wheels coming in the Summer Mini catalog. I’ll be featuring these as part of the Stampin’ Addicts summer mini catalog blog hop, which starts on Friday. I hope you’ll come back to see more!

Stamps: For Teacher Builder Wheel, Elementary Alphabet Builder Wheel, School Colors Builder Wheel, Four Frames, Family Phrases
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Pacific Point
Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Other: Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon

Just a reminder, the Four Frames stamp set is only available until the end of the month, and then you’ll have to wait until July when it appears in the new Idea Book and Catalog!

This project was created by Samantha Alvarez, who I am fortunate enough to have in my down line. She gave me permission to share it with you.  She was asked to create a scrapbook page as a project for an upcoming workshop.  All of the guests will be creating their own 6″ x 6″ page, but she also wanted to show them how it can be used as a larger page as well. Her lucky hostess will get to keep the stepped up page!

This is the 6″ x 6″ page that everyone will be creating together. How cute is this? Can you just picture an adorable 6″ x 6″ album with all of the First Day of School pictures?

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch

This is easily incorporated into an 8 1/2″ x 11″ page, if that is the size you prefer to use, with room for two more pictures.

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch

Finally, but putting it on a 12″ x 12″ page, there is room for journaling.

Stamps: First Day

Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch,Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, gold brads, dimensionals

How cute is that? What a great example of a progressive scrapbook page! A big thanks to Samantha for letting me share it here.

I’ve been teaching a summer school class on rubber-stamping and card-making to elementary school kids this week. It is super fun and lets me experience the joy of beginning stampers all over again! Do you remember that moment when you looked at your first card and went, “Wow! I made that!” ? Today I am bringing in the Big Shot and letting them die cut and dress some paper Build-a-Bears. Have you ever seen an 8-year-old run something through a Big Shot? Sheer joy!

This is a card I made for last weekend’s Stampin’ Addicts’ Iron Stampers Throw down. It combines two of the challenges — Throwdown Challenge #3: Hit me with Your Big Shot! (use the Big Shot at least three ways) and Iron Stamper Challenge – 8 PM – Secret Ingredient: School Days. I used some of my new dies and paper!

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Basic Black
Other: Beary Dressy Originals Die, Bear Bigz Die, Beary Bright Sizzlet, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot

I think I’m going to have to save this for Eve’s first day of school card. Hopefully I’ll remember…

Yesterday was the first day of school for both Eve & I. I am super excited for her to be in first grade and so is she! We made some “Back to School” cards for her teachers (she has two this year).  I went with the classic apple from Tart and Tangy. I love the look of it colored with markers! I also used the new Holiday Windows dies (from the Mini Catalog) with the Movers and Shaper die to create a really fun card. This is the outside of the card I made:

Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Real red, Whisper White, Jackpot Designer Series Paper
Other: Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Mover & Shaper Bigz Die, Holiday Windows Die, Big Shot

And here is the card opened up:

Eve also used the same die. It’s really neat how you can move it around to have the opening wherever you’d like. We were both happy to learn that although it is recommended to only cut one sheet of card stock with the Movers and Shaper dies, we were able to cut a piece of cardstock together with a piece of Designer Series Paper, and even two pieces of card stock. We attached the front pieces before running them through the Big Shot. Here is the front of Eve’s card:

I am also on the Faculty Social Committee here at school. I volunteered to make cards to go in all of the new teachers boxes on the first day of school. Unfortunately, this was Monday afternoon, and the first day of school was Tuesday! I had to come up with something quick and easy, so I used Tart & Tangy again, and made some cute little 3″ x 3″ cards. A big thank you to my husband for punching the circles and scallop circles for me!
