Did you find what you wanted?

I saw these super cute fabric pumpkins over on Heidi’s blog the other day, and I totally wanted to make my own! Luckily, she linked to the directions on the Martha Stewart website. One of the art teachers at school has been sewing lately, so I asked her if she wouldn’t mind helping me out with the part that needed to be machine stitched. Not only did she help with the sewing, Edy also taught me what it means to cut fabric on the bias, and why it is important! These are made with Stampin’ Up’s super yummy Spice Cake fabric.

Supplies: Spice Cake Designer Fabric, Hemp Twine, More Mustard Dotted Scallop Ribbon, Early Espresso 1/4″ Grosgrain, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, sewing machine, thread, batting
The pieces of fabric I used were 4″ x 8″, 6″ x 12″, and 8″ x 16″. You could go bigger or smaller, depending on the size of the pumpkins that you want.
Thanks again to Heidi & Edy. If you have a sec, go check out some of Edy’s amazing artwork!

I hope you enjoyed my week of My Digital Studio posts. I’m back to ink, paper, and stamps for awhile now! When I saw this fabulous turkey on Sandie Connor’s blog, I knew I had to make one! The ribbon feathers are just way too cute! And yes, that is the owl punch with his little ears trimmed off. (Sorry buddy…) His waddle is made from the heart that is also on that same punch. I freehand cut his beak.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
Other: Owl Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, More Mustard Dotted Scallop Ribbon, Early Espresso 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon
I’m so happy to welcome Samantha back to my Stampin’ Up team of Craft Therapists! She signed back up and got a free Big Shot! There’s still a couple days to join Stampin’ Up and get a free Big Shot (or $100 shopping spree, your choice). Don’t miss out on this great deal, you have until Friday, November 11th!

I love ribbon! Who doesn’t really? And Stampin’ Up has so much fun yummy ribbon in the new catalog, I just want it all! But let’s face it, buying all that ribbon can be quite an investment. So to make it easier to have it all, I am offering two different ribbon shares. (Sorry, available only in the United States.)

The first one is for the 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon, available in all five of the new in colors. If you wanted all 5 of these rolls of ribbon, it would cost you $49.75 plus shipping and tax. Instead, you can get 2 yards of each color for $13.65 including shipping to you! The colors are Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder. This ribbon is just fantastic — I love that little ruffle, and the colors are just so yummy!

The second ribbon share that I am doing is for the 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon. This fun grosgrain ribbon is printed with white polka dots on one side, and is available in the following fabulous colors: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Marina Mist, Melon Mambo, More Mustard, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Tangerine Tango. It would cost you $79.50 plus shipping and tax to get these 10 packages of ribbon! Instead, you can get 2 yards of each color for $20.65 including shipping to you!
Can’t decide which you want? I can combine shipping, so you get 2 yards of all 15 ribbons for $33.30. Send me an email if you are interested, and I will follow up with you on the details. Interested in other ribbons? Let me know and if there is enough interest I can put more together.

Pals Paper Arts has some great colors this week, all from the Regals family. I decided to combine them with the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.

Since these colors are leaning more on the masculine side, I decided to put them together to make a Father’s Day card. I’m missing the bottom element off of the sketch, but I couldn’t think of a good way to include it. I tried something new and used ribbon underneath a strip of card stock to create a border. I really like how it looks!

Stamps: All Holidays, Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, More Mustard
Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Whisper White
Other: Night of Navy Satin Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
There are a lot of items on this card that are on the retiring list — All Holidays, Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, Night of Navy Satin Ribbon, and Hodgepodge Hardware. Stamps will be available until the end of the month, but accessories (including wheels) may sell out sooner. Some items already have. Nothing is worse than paying 3 times as much for something on eBay. Make sure you get what you want before they are gone!

Another great sketch challenge from Pals Paper Arts this week!

When I saw the large circle on it, I knew it would be perfect with the Take a Spin stamp set. Remember, this set is in the Occasions Mini catalog, and may only be available until the end of the month. We did have word that the actual game spinners will be available after the catalog ends, but not necessarily the set itself. This would be a super cute end of the school year card — for kids or teachers!

Stamps: Take a Spin
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive
Paper: Pacific Point, Rel Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Celebrations Designer Series Paper
Other: Game Spinner Hands, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, Real Red Satin Ribbon, Old Olive 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon
I felt that the sketch called for a band that was wider than a single strip of ribbon, so I put two pieces of the Real Red satin ribbon next to each other, and covered the center with a piece of te Old Olive grosgrain. A great way to make a wier stripe!

This week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge is to make a Clean & Simple card with Ribbon. I got this nice wide grosgrain ribbon to make Hanukkah cards with, and realized how perfect it was for this challenge! The ribbon was a lot softer than I expected it to be, too.

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: VersaMark, Night of Navy
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy
Other: Night of Navy Striped 1 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Embossing Powder
I really like how nicely the Soft Suede card stock matches the gold. It’s a great alternative to the Brushed Gold card stock.
