Memorial Day is coming up next weekend, and this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge is to create something with Memorial Day as a theme. I chose to use the word “Remember” as part of my card. For that is what Memorial Day is — a day to remember men and women who died while serving our country. (For a history of Memorial Day and more information, visit the History Channel.) Thank you to those who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces. Your service and sacrifice are greatly appreciated.

I’m down at my parents’ house for the long Memorial Day weekend, and am super excited that Kristina Werner posted her Color Inspiration #53. First, because I actually have all of the colors with me here, and second because I have time to do it while Eve plays with my mom! These are great colors for this weekend:

I am a little limited on stamp sets & supplies that I brought with, so I decided to make a Faux Pinwheel.  Thanks to Lyssa for the great instructions on her blog! The squares I used are 1 inch on each side. The little circle of Summer Sun card stock is punched with a random hole punch that my Mom had lying around the house.
