Did you find what you wanted?

As I continued on my quest to use the Tootsie Rolls (see yesterday’s blog post), I found that they fit very nicely into the 1″ x 8″ cello bags. I used the super cute Gift Givers stamp set to create the toppers again. There are so many holidays represented in this set, that I’m just going to keep filling bags! The Curly Label that comes with the Movers & Shapers die is just a hair bigger than the actual punch so I used that to mat the punched out piece.

Stamps: Gift Givers
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Other: Curly Label Punch, Movers & Shapers Curly Label Bigz XL Die, 1″ x 8″ Cello Bags
So, what are you doing with your leftover Halloween candy?

We gave out Tootsie Rolls for Halloween. Or tried to, at least. Not a lot of trick-or-treaters came by, leaving us with a lot of Tootsie Rolls. We donated some to Operation Gratitude at school, and I figured the rest could be used for crafts. As I was thinking about how to use them, I remembered these super cute Top Note Owl Bag Toppers that were all the rage about three years ago. I decided it was time to bring them back!

Paper: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black
Other: Top Note Bigz Die, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, 1″ Circle Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Small Cello Bags
This little owl is so cute, I almost feel bad eating the Tootsie Rolls. Almost.

This past week we had “Boo Buddies” at work, where we each pick a name and leave that person little treats all week. I love doing this! It is so much fun! The only bummer for me is that I can;t do anything hand-made, or the person will know that it is me. But Monday is our big reveal, so I can FINALLY craft something for my buddy!
I decided to make one of those super cute hexagon boxes made from two milk cartons. Have you seen them? Paula has a fabulous tutorial on her blog. I made mine to look somewhat like a pumpkin, but I didn’t put a Jack-o-lantern face on it, so it can continue to be used until Thanksgiving.

I filled the inside with chocolates, and covered them with stamped labels to make them more festive. I fit about a dozen in there.

Stamps: It’s a Wrap Holidays
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack, Labels
Other: Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Crop-a-Dile, Milk Carton Bigz Die, Big Shot
This was a really fun box to make. I hope she likes it!

A friend of mine is going through some medical stuff right now. I wanted to let her know I was thinking about her, so I put together this little box of chocolate and a 3×3 card to go with it. I made a clear acetate cover for a matchbox bottom, and filled it with chocolates. I wanted to stamp the wrappers to look like band aids, so I used Peach Parfait ink. I used the polka dot paper to echo the dots on the “band aids.”

Stamps: It’s a Wrap Occasions, Occasions Alphabet
Ink: Peach Parfait, Island Indigo
Paper: Island Indigo, In-Color Designers Series Paper Stack, Whisper White
Other: Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, labels, acetate
Hope this helps her feel better soon!

One of my favorite things to do with the Matchbox Die is to fill it with chocolate! And now that we have these fabulous wrapper stamps, it’s even easier! I made this little box of chocolates for Steve, a fun addition to his birthday cards.

Stamps: Word Play, It’s a Wrap Occasions
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper
Other: Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, mailing labels
There are two versions of the label stamps available – It’s a Wrap Occasions and It’s a Wrap Holidays. They are so much fun!

Now that summer is winding down, thoughts are turning back to school. I thought it would be fun to use the A+ stamp from the It’s A Wrap Occasions stamp set and make some cute chocolate purses to give Eve’s teachers on the first day back to school! This also fits right in with the Paper Players School Daze challenge.

You may be looking at these and thinking to yourself, “Hey! we don’t have Poppy Parade 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon!” Well, you’re right. I dyed these pieces very easily by pressing white ribbon into the Poppy Parade ink pad. It was super quick and easy! This time, I used a little piece of Velcro on the purse flap, so that these purses could actually open. Here’s what the inside looks like:

Stamps: It’s A Wrap Occasions
Ink: Poppy Parade
Paper: Peach Parfait, Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper
Other: Whisper White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Bitty Punch Pack, Basic Rhinestones, Mailing Labels, Velcro Dots
We’ll be making these super cute purses at my workshops this month, so let me know when you want to schedule yours!
Just so you know, if you choose to use Hershey’s candy, they have some very strict legal policies on covering their candy. Please see here for the complete policy.

For our school’s benefit each year, the teachers are asked to donate an “outing” of some kind, which is then raffled off to the students. This year I donated a card making party, which we had last Friday. At the party were two third grade girls and two fourth grade girls. I remembered the Nugget purses that I had made for Valentine’s Day, and thought these would be super fun for the girls to make as one of their projects. The girl who won said that her favorite colors were blue and green, so I based the design off of that. Each one holds one Hershey nugget.

Paper: Pacific Point, Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper
Other: Bitty Punch Pack, Basic Rhinestones, Whisper White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Hershey Nuggets
Each girl made two, so they could keep one and give one away. Or keep both. Whatever. Robin has great instructions for these on her blog.

I realized that I haven’t used my Eat Chocolate set much (notice that I didn’t say I haven’t eaten much chocolate) and I thought that this week’s clean&simple Fall to Layout was just perfect for it!

I’ve had Mary’s fabulous card saved in my favorites for awhile, and used some of her ideas to create this one. I love the saying on it!!

Stamps: Eat Chocolate
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizazz, Blushing Bride
Paper: Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
Other: Pear Pizazz Poly Ribbon, Designer Label Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
This set is from the Occasions Mini Catalog, which as you know, ends April 30. Make sure you order what you want from it before it is too late!

I joined in an online stamp and chat last weekend over at Stampin’ Addicts. It was part of the birthday celebration. One of the cards I made was for this sketch challenge:

I decided to ink up the new Eat Chocolate set that I hadn’t used yet. I love the sayings in this set — so clever! Since the set was about chocolate, I had to use Chocolate Chip! And what goes better with Chocolate Chip than pink?

Stamps: Eat Chocolate
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Other: 1 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, scallop circle punch, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot
I hope you’ll come join us at Stampin’ Addicts and play some of the challenges! There is a different one every day!

Ah, St. Patrick’s Day! Whether you are Irish or not, you have to love St. Patrick’s and all of its accompanying green goodies. Here is my St. Patrick’s day version of the decorated pepermint patties, as previously seen for Hanukkah and Valentine’s Day. (I think this basic combo can be made for any occasion!)
Here’s a close up of the patties. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use the glitter or not, so I did one with and one without.
Stamps: Pinch Proof
Ink: Old Olive, Certainly Celery
Paper: Old Olive, Certainly Celery
