This project was created by Samantha Alvarez, who I am fortunate enough to have in my down line. She gave me permission to share it with you.  She was asked to create a scrapbook page as a project for an upcoming workshop.  All of the guests will be creating their own 6″ x 6″ page, but she also wanted to show them how it can be used as a larger page as well. Her lucky hostess will get to keep the stepped up page!

This is the 6″ x 6″ page that everyone will be creating together. How cute is this? Can you just picture an adorable 6″ x 6″ album with all of the First Day of School pictures?

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch

This is easily incorporated into an 8 1/2″ x 11″ page, if that is the size you prefer to use, with room for two more pictures.

Finally, but putting it on a 12″ x 12″ page, there is room for journaling.

Paper: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch,Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, gold brads, dimensionals

How cute is that? What a great example of a progressive scrapbook page! A big thanks to Samantha for letting me share it here.

I put these thank you notes together pretty quickly.  They use the new 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I love this! It’s in the new catalog, and will be available to order on Thursday. I made two different looks just by switching which piece of the Designer Series Paper I used.

Here’s the second one:

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White, Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper
Other: 2 3/8″ scallop circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch

Both the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and the entire line of Orchid Opulence products will not be available after Wednesday! Get them while you can!

I am excited to give you a preview of a couple items that will be in Stampin’ Up’s new idea book and catalog when it goes live on July 1st — only two weeks away! I used them as part of Stamping 411‘s sketch challenge this week, so let me first show you the sketch:

The first item that I used is the Newsprint Designer Series Paper. This is fantastic, because I love the look of old books on cards and scrapbook pages, but the librarian in me could never actually cut up a book to use that way! The second item is the new 2 3/8″ scallop circle punch! I am excited about this because it is the perfect size for using with the 1 3/4″ circle. And when you have super cute images like the bookworm (speaking of librarians…) which only fit in the 1 /4″ circle, this is perfect! Here is my card:

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Newsprint Designer Series Paper
Other: Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, 2 3/8″ scallop circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch

You may be wondering how the new scallop circle punch layers with the old one. The answer is — beautifully! Here is a picture of the two of them together.

Just think, if you were a Stampin’ Up demonstrator you wouldn’t have to wait until July to play with these fun new goodies!

I just love most of the Stamping 411 Sketch challenges. They are clean, easy-to-follow, and esthetically pleasing. Plus, they usually give you measurements! This week’s was no exception.

As soon as I saw it (around 1:00 this morning when I was up with the puppy), I knew that it would be perfect for one of the library thank you notes I was making. Here’s what I came up with:

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper
Other: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (reversed)

First Day is one of the  new stamp sets available in Stampin’ Up’s upcoming Summer Mini Catalog. Want to see more? Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Blog Hop starts this Friday, chock full of great projects and ideas!

The other big project I have been working on for Laura is a bunch of thank you notes for her library volunteers. (Laura is the head librarian at Hackley School) I just love it when when my stamping and library worlds collide! I’m doing a few different designs for her, so you’ll be seeing more, I’m sure! For the first few I used the First Day stamp set, which is in Stampin’ Up’s upcoming Summer Mini catalog. I was so excited to see a bookworm stamp! Here are two variations on the same card that I made using it.

Stamps: First Day, Nursery Letters Stampin’ Around Wheel
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Real Red, Creamy Caramel
Paper: Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White
Other: 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (reversed)

I couldn’t decide which one of these I liked better, so I made a few of each!
