Easter

ColourQ has some really pretty colors up this week (not that they aren’t always) and they go really well with Pals Paper Arts Easter/Spring Inspiration Challenge.

Stampin’ Success, the free magazine for Stampin’ Up demonstrators (it’s another perk of being a demonstrator!),  had some cute samples using the Awash with Flowers stamp set. I realized that I hadn’t used mine in awhile, so I pulled it out for today. It makes such great looking flowers so easily! Especially the clear mount set! I don’t have any Kiwi Kiss, so I used Pear Pizzaz instead. (And that really is Early Espresso ink and card stock, even though it looks black in the picture.)

Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Something to Celebrate (hostess)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Other: Eyelet Border Punch, Pear Pizazz Poly Ribbon

These are such great spring colors! I hope you can play along with ColourQ this week!

Happy Easter to my friends who are celebrating today! I decided that the colors in this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge would work perfectly for an Easter card, especially when combined with the new stamp set Awash with Flowers. The colors are:

I ordered this stamp set in the Clear Mount, and it is so easy to do the two-step stamping! You’ll be seeing a lot of this set over the next few weeks — I love it!

Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Well Scripted
Ink: Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Whisper White
Other: Certainly Celery 5/8″ Satin Ribbon

Have you seen the Eggcellent Eggs Kit on page 23 of the Occasions Mini Catalog? It is a fabulous value at $9.95!

Since I don’t celebrate Easter, I don’t have any Easter stamp sets. So how, I wondered, could I make Easter cards for my friends who celebrate? Why by relying on punches, of course! (And thank goodness for the All Holidays stamp set that has the phrase “Easter Wishes” in it.)

I saw this super cute Easter card on Jackie Topa’s blog, and realized that she used the wide oval bunch on the Delicate Dots Sale-a-Bration paper to make the eggs. Hey, I thought, I have both of those! I can make Easter Eggs too! And so I did. We made this card at a workshop in Ashby this week, and will be making it in Santa Monica next week.
