Anniversary

Wowsers! Today is my 16th anniversary. Below is the card I made for my husband. It was so fun and easy to make with the new Heart Framelits! This card was inspired by a card made by Tonya Byrd that I saw on Stampin’ Connection, a Stampin’ Up demonstrator only website. (There are currently over 200,000 samples posted! Another great reason to be a demonstrator!)

Stamps: Take it to Heart, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, VersaMark
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Other: Hearts Framelits, Word Window Punch, Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Tempting Turquiose Embossing Powder

I just love how that image looks embossed, and I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up has so many great colors of embossing powder now!

I really like this week’s Stamping 411 sketch, and the colors from the Color Lab Challenge are fantastic, but combining them had me beating my head against a wall!

I didn’t want to use flowers, and everything else that I thought of need some kind of brown. So I ran all my errands, made another pack of cards for a gift (I’ll show you those later in the week), and finally, finally decided to use one of the sayings from Word Play. (You know that’s on sale for 30% off this month, right?) And you know what? I really like how it came out!

Stamps: Word Play
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Whisper White
Other: Square Scallop Duo Bigz Die, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding (still available!), Subtles Brads, Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love that that little world fits perfectly in the 3/4″ circle punch! I had tried to make the seam binding ruffled, but I couldn’t get it right. I’m going to have to work on that some more. If you have any helpful tips on that, I’d love to hear them!

Happy Anniversary to my honey!! We were married 15 years ago today. Wow, time sure flies! We’ve known each other over half our lives now. Crazy! I wanted to make a really special card, so I looked up what the 15th anniversary is. It’s crystal. Crystal? How was I going to make a card with crystal? So I put on my thinking cap, and here is what I came up with. There are Dazzling Diamonds inside the Sweet Treat Cup, and Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the wheel stamped in the background. I also added some Crystal Effects inside the ribbon buckle.

Stamps: Sweet Centers, Language of Love Wheel
Ink: Real Red, Night of Navy, VersaMark
Paper: Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Other: Sweet Treat Cup, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Night of Navy 5/8″ satin ribbon, Hodge Podge Hardware, Crystal Effects

What do you think? Did I make it crystal-y enough?

I absolutely love this new Valentine’s Day set, Valentine Defined. It has so many adorable images! I decided to use the super cute flamingos for this card. I also pulled out my Wild Wasabi card stock which I haven’t really used that much since it came back last summer. I adored it when it was one of the in-colors, and missed it terribly while it was on hiatus, but surprisingly haven’t reached for it much over the last 6 months. I have a feeling that will be changing soon! This card doesn’t have to be for Valentine’s Day — it could be for a wedding, anniversary, or anytime you want to say “I love you!”

Stamps: Valentine Defined
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Subtles Patterns Paper Stack (Pretty in Pink & Wild Wasabi)
Other: Pretty in Pink 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die, Big Shot

Be on the lookout for more cute cards with this set. I love it!

Today’s Pals Paper Arts challenge is another monochromatic one — this time it is purple. I was trying to decide what I wanted to do. Purple flowers, purple butterflies, purple ??? I decided on purple owls. Yep, purple owls. I used Stampin’ Up’s new Owl Punch, which makes it so easy to create adorable owls. How cute are they?

Stamps: Woodgrain
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Basic Black, Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (Perfect Plum)
Other: Two Step Owl Punch, Whisper White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon

This would make a super cute wedding or anniversary card, or even a Valentine.

Happy Anniversary to my parents! They are celebrating their 45th (wow!) wedding anniversary on Sunday. Since I am not there to celebrate with them, I wanted to make a very special card. I used the soon-to-be retired stamp set, Together Forever, which pairs beautifully with the Lovely Letters alphabet. I love how the monogram piece looks cut out. Only for my parents would I attempt to cut out anything so intricate! (Actually, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be.)

Stamps: Together Forever, Lovely Letters
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Bashful Blue, Bashful Blue Designer Prints Series Paper
Other: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!! May you have many more wonderful years together!

Happy Anniversary to my sweetie! We were married 14 years ago today! Wow! Time sure flies, doesn’t it. This is the card that I made for Steve for our anniversary. (I liked it so much that I made a bunch of these as Leadership Swaps as well.)

Stamps: I {heart} Hearts, Together Forever
Ink: Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon

I really like these two colors together. I just might have to make some Valentine’s with these too!

Stampin’ Up just announced their final Deal of the Week for July. Whoo-hoo! Another punch on sale! I love this punch! This a fantastic punch! I used it last Valentine’s Day over and over. And for only $10.99, how can you go wrong?

heartYou can take a look at a few of the projects I used it on. Also, it coordinates perfectly with the three hearted stamp in the Love You Much stamp set. This deal is good through July 31st. Shop now or contact me to place your order today.

My parents celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary last weekend — quite an accomplishment! The card that I made them had to use yellow, of course, since that is my mom’s favorite color. I used Yo-Yo Yellow, which is her current favorite. I’ll have to get her opinion of Crushed Curry, one of the brand new in-colors!

For this card I used the “Happy Anniversary” sentiment from Hugs & Wishes. This super versatile set of six phrases will be gone forever after June 30th, so order today!

For today’s Mojo Monday sketch, I started by looking at my Designer Series paper. I came across the great gingham in the Bella Rose pack, which happened to be next to the Chocolate Chip polka dot piece. This reminded me of a super cute card I had seen made with these and the bear from Under the Stars. Since I hadn’t used that bear in quite a while, I decided to ink him up! Here is today’s sketch:

mojo80sketchAnd here is the card I came up with:

cimg7666Stamps: Under the Stars, Family Phrases

I love this bear! I really need to use him more. Thanks for looking!
