Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha

I had so much fun yesterday afternoon having a few stampers over to make some projects for Valentine’s Day! One of the things we made was this super cute matchbox. Did you know the matchboxes made with the matchbox die fit four Hershey nuggets perfectly? I love that! Here is the outside of the box:

I used a Glimmer Brad to make a little handle! And here is the inside with the Hershey Nuggets. I wrapped each one in a 1″ x 3″ strip of Designer Series Paper to match.

I am very excited to be featuring the adorable Build-a-Bear set, Bear Hugs. This is a set from the main catalog that is one of the choices at the back of the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I’ve had this set for awhile, and I love it more and more every time I use it! It makes great baby cards, and can be used from baby showers all the way through a first birthday!

The first card I want to show you is based on Lauren Meader’s original baby onesie card. This bear image is just perfect to decorate it! I stamped the image in Basic Gray for a softer look, then used my markers to color it in.

My second card is another shaped card, this time a baby bib. (I believe this idea was created by the incomparable Jackie Topa.) It’s so easy to change the gender of the baby bear just by changing the color of his or her socks! I used my Aqua Painters and reinkers to color in the bear this time.

My third project would work great as a baby shower favor — just fill it with chocolate and you are good to go! I stamped my bear in Basic Gray on the different colors of card stock, then cut them out and paper-pieced it together. It is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My final project is by Eve, my favorite guest designer, and 7-year-old daughter. The Build-a-Bear stamps are a HUGE hit with the kids, and this one is no exception! How great is it that Stampin’ Up gives us a way to earn free stamps, so we don’t have to worry about letting the kids share them?

Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop!

Yes, I know that Eve is seven years old. Yes, I know that it is January. But take a look at the ColourQ colors this week! What a tough batch of colors!

Now, fortunately for me, Eve just so happened to be wearing a Rich Razzleberry sweatshirt at her first Thanksgiving, and the other colors are represented as well. So, I took a little trip down memory lane, and made a scrapbook page from Eve’s first Thanksgiving.

Do you like the turkey at the top left? I am so proud of this turkey that I made out of punches! I made it to match the one on Eve’s bib. Do you want to know the secret of the feet? Those are actually the feet from the Owl Punch, but I hid the rest of the owl behind the round circle of the turkey’s body!

I really like the colors from Color Lab this week, they seem perfect for a card a little boy. I combined them with this week’s Stamping 411 sketch.

This past Thursday was Tu B’Shvat, the Jewish holiday celebrating the birthday of the trees. And look how perfect for this is this week’s Stampin’ Celebration Inspiration Challenge!

Huffington Post published a very interesting article this week about how Tu B’Shvat has become a Jewish Environmental holiday. It certainly keeps the holiday just as relevant today as in the Biblical world.

Here is the second scrapbook page that I made for the My Digital Studio contest. I wanted the colors of the page to match Eve’s outfit, so I made my own background paper by stamping white snowflakes all over the paper. Instead of doing each one individually, I created a grouping that I liked, the selected the whole group and copied and pasted it in one chunk. Then I spread these chunks around the page.

The photo layout is one of the preset ones from My Digital Studio. It’s nice to have the option to use one of theirs or start from scratch.
