I love Stampin’ Up’s exclusive Matchbox Bigz XL die! It makes the cutest little boxes, so quickly! For my most recent workshop at Paula’s house, I used it to make her a hostess gift. In addition to being a fabulous stamper, Paula also makes gorgeous jewelry. I left the three matchboxes separate so she could reuse them as jewelry holders.

I filled one with a small stamp, the second with some Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, and the third with some of the tags from the Matchbox Die in a variety of colors.

Matchbox Bigz XL Die

My dad is big-time into family history and genealogy. It is his passion, and find relatives and connecting them is so much more than a hobby to him. When I saw this project on my Stampin’ Up demonstrator website, I knew that I just had to make one for him for Father’s Day. He was adamant that we take a family picture when we were all there for Passover. I’m so glad that he did, because it gave me the perfect family picture to use! I am so impressed with how this came out, and it took me less than an hour to make! I can’t wait to give it to him!

Stamps: Lovely Letters, Simple Serif Alphabet & Numbers
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Urban Garden Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Small Chocolate Thoughts & Prayers Tree (Decor Elements), Stamp-a-ma-Jig, 14″x 18″ frame

To create the background, I used both 12″ x 12″ sheets of the same Kiwi Kiss pattern from the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper pack. I used the 14″ x 18″ paper insert in the frame as my guide, and glued the patterened paper to it. I left one sheet 12″ x 12″. I cut three pieces off of the  second sheet — one 6″ x 12″, one 2″ x 12″, and one 2″ x 6″. I pieced these together, and you can’t really see seams unless you get relly close to it!

BV blog hop FINAL

Welcome to Stampin’ Addicts 2009 Bon Voyage Blog Hop, where we bid a fond farewell to 34 of the stamp sets on Stampin’ Up’s Last Chance List. This is Port of Call #1, featuring In Everything Give Thanks, currently on the dormant list. You may have just arrived from Port of Call #34 – Stamp A Little Longer, or this may be your first stop. Either way, all the links will take you in a circle, and you’ll end up back where you began.

One announcement before disembarking: the tour links are only active through 11:59 pm Tuesday, June 16; after that, many hostesses will post more details on projects you see today. Bookmark your favorite stops now–on return visits, you’ll bypass customs & immigration and go straight to the fun.

I have several wonderful Thanksgiving related projects to show you. Yes, I know that it is June, but this set won’t be available in November, and then you’ll be really sad that you don’t have this Pilgrim, turkey, or cornucopia to make all of your great Thanksgiving projects! Many of these use Tangerine Tango, a fabulous fall color that also will not be available after June 30th.

What could be cuter on your Thanksgiving table than these place cards? (You can click on the pictures to see them larger.)

Kristina Werner posted Color Inspiration #54 last night, and wow this one was a doozy for me!

061009-colors

I couldn’t even wrap my brain around these colors after getting home from Paula’s workshop last night! So I slept on it, letting the colors play around in my dreams. I woke up this morning feeling refreshed, and after only one cup of coffee, I came up with this card. I love these super cute birdies! They just make me smile every time I see them.

And it was so much easier than  I thought it was going to be! I used this tutorial, but simplified it by just using a circle punch. We’ll be making these at Paula’s workshop on Thursday. If you’re near central Massachusetts and want to stop by, let me know!

I am SO excited to be a part of another Stampin’ Addicts blog tour! These are so much fun, with projects from extremely talented demonstrator friends of mine. You remember the awesome Parade of Papers tour last month–this new ‘farewell’ tour will feature all retiring sets from the Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog. I’ll be kicking off the tour as stop #1 and featuring a super cute stamp set! (Should I tell you which one? Nah…)

The tour will run from noon on Saturday, June 13th to midnight on Tuesday, June 16th. After that, the ship will depart, so be sure to bookmark your favorite sites to return to later for instructions and patterns for the projects. Unlike other blog hops, ours are FREE to view and participate in, and highly professionally organized, with no dropped links and 100% participation. You will not be disappointed! Stay tuned for updates–just look for the logo!
