I just have to show you one more card I made with this window set. I just love the glow of the window! It makes the cards look so warm and friendly. I had the idea for this card in my head for awhile. I had considered about putting the girl’s face in too, but the window wasn’t quite as big as I thought. If I had to do it again, I would water color the top window first, and then stamp so the ink didn’t run. I took the “Happy Hanukkah” out of the Menorah in Shalom Sayings with masking and the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

I will have a bunch more Hanukkah cards and other items coming soon, as I get ready for Hanukkah craft fair in the middle of December.

Here’s another card I made using that same Window Dressing set. As I said before, you can’t buy this one, it is a level three hostess set. You can earn it for free though. But it is only available for less than two more months. Yikes! Less than two months left for this fabulous catalog! The saying below it is from the set Heard from the Heart. The image is colored in with ink and aqua painters.

Kristina Werner, stamper extraordinaire, posts a color challenge every week for anyone who wants to play along. I always had a ton of excuses as to why I couldn’t join in. But I realized, you have time for what you make time for. So I’m going to stretch myself, and try to play along with this each week. Here are this week’s colors:

Since Thanksgiving’s on my mind, I decided to do I a card for that. I used the Hostess Level 3 set, Window Dressing. (Did you know that you can earn this fabulous set for free? Ask me how!) I have a hard time using Elegant Eggplant (even though Eve loves it), so it shows up only in the grapes.

I’m looking forward to playing again next week!

No, not that kind of leftovers! Simply Sent Card Kit leftovers! I was able to make three more cards out of the leftover pieces from the Rock Star Simply Sent Card Elements Kit. (See yesterday’s post for more info on the kit.) I added a few scraps of Whisper White, Brilliant Blue and Old Olive and my little star punch.

These three cards bring my total of cards from the one kit up to 12! And I still have some of the double-sided paper and the self-adhesive die cuts left!

Both the kit and the stamp set are available in Spanish as well as English.

Sometimes it is fun to make cards without having to figure out all the details. That’s why it is great to go to your demonstrator’s workshops and classes! (Don’t have a demonstrator? Let me know!) But they tend to frown on your coming over in the middle of the night, or showing up in your pajamas. That’s where the Simply Sent Card Elements kits come in handy. These kits include all of the paper and embellishments you need to create three each of three different cards. They include step-by-step instructions on how to create the cards. You just need to provide the ink, adhesive, paper cutter, and stamps. There is a recommended stamp set for each of the kits, but you are certainly free to use others.

I realized that I was low on masculine birthday cards. Okay, really, I had none. So I figured now would be a great time to break out the Rock Star Simply Sent Card Elements Kit. Below is everything it came with:

I needed to supply an Old Olive Stampin’ Pad, a Brilliant Blue Stampin’ Write Marker, and the Starring You stamp set. I also used my paper cutter, snail, glue dots, and Stampin’ Dimensionals. Oh and the incredible Craft & Paper scissors to cut the ribbon. (Have you tried these yet? Wow!) My final results:

I made three of each of these cards. And now I’m restocked on my masculine cards!

Check back tomorrow to see the three cards I made out of the leftovers.

My friend Tracy had her baby last week, so of course I had to make her card. My favorite baby card design was created by Lauren Meader. It is a card that looks like a baby onesie! Lauren has great tutorial on her blog that shows how to make them.

For baby Georgia’s card, I used the Simple Serif alphabet to spell out her name. (I used my handy dandy Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to make sure the letters were lined up right!) The saying below her name is from the Holidays & Wishes stamp set, and the heart in the background is from A Happy Heart Stamp Set from the mini catalog. (Look for more from this set as Valentine’s Day gets closer!)

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Rich Regals Brads, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig

As long as I was make a onesie card, I decided why not make a few more?  I used the stamp from Punches Three (which you can earn for FREE since it is a hostess set! Ask me how!) and switched the colors around to make one for girls, one for boys, and one that is gender neutral.

Baby Boy card: Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue

Happy new baby, Tracy! Sending you big hugs!

What is the Holiday Extravangza? I don’t know, and it is driving me a little bit nutty! All we know so far is that it will take place November 26 to December 1, just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend holiday sales. (Believe me, I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything!)  But, never fear, Stampin’ Up! has some great holiday ideas to keep you happy while we wait for more details. Click on the banners below to see some fabulous ideas from Stampin’ Up. (Remember to choose me as your demonstrator if you order online by clicking the Shop Now button — I’m the only Yapha in MA — and I’ll send you a little something in the mail!)

Happy Stampin’!

Both my mother-in-law and my father-in-law had surgery during the last couple of weeks, so of course I sent them cards. I wanted cards that suited their personalities — that’s one of the beautiful things about making your own cards! My father-in-law’s card is cute and funny, my mother-in-law’s is more understated and elegant. I hope they brought them some joy! Here’s hoping that they both continue to heal well.

One of the great things about the new school where I am the librarian is being able to wear jeans on Friday. But even so, I didn’t want to wear my favorite pair of jeans with the big hole in the knee. I didn’t think it looked professional. So I went in search of something to patch it with, and I found a bandanna print iron-on patch. I though it would look pretty good. And then I remembered that the Big Shot cuts fabric! Wouldn’t it be cute, I thought, to make the patch into the shape of the Top Note die? So I did!

This is how the jeans started out.

Then I ran the iron-on patch through my Big Shot. I had some material left over, so I also ran it through using the Scallop Die #2, and made two small scalloped circles to decorate the other leg.

The patch ironed on quickly and easily. I’m a big fan of iron patches!

And viola! The finished product:

finalpantsI love them! I can’t wait to try my Big Shot on even more types of materials!

Some people can’t have enough shoes, some can’t have enough stamps. This set, Humor in High Heels, is for both!

My mom has some foot issues, and wanted me to make up some cards as a gift for the woman who has been helping her find shoes. I used the layout of a Christmas card designed by Angie Kennedy Juda.
